Build the systems behind the imagery

We build the ordering and processing systems behind Geopera's satellite imagery. Small team, real customers, published validation.

Open roles

No open roles right now

We don't have anything advertised at the moment, but we're always glad to hear from good people. Send us an expression of interest and we'll be in touch when something opens up.

What we value and how we act

Publish the validation

A claim we cannot check is a claim we do not make. When we say a depth is accurate, we publish what it was measured against and where it was wrong. This costs us the occasional impressive-sounding sentence and earns us the customers who checked.

Close the gaps

Quality dies in the manual step between two automated ones. We build pipelines where nothing depends on someone remembering, and a delivery either passes its checks or does not ship quietly. The same standard applies to how we work: decisions written down, processes that run without heroics.

Start from the workflow

Satellite data is bought by people with a job to finish. We study how analysts, surveyors, and scientists actually work, and we measure ourselves by how little of their time we take between question and answer.

Say it plainly

Remote sensing has enough jargon and enough marketing. We write the way we would want to be written to: what it is, what it costs, what it cannot do. Inside the company the same rule holds, and anyone can question anything with a number.

Our Approach

How we interview

The novel challenges we think about at Geopera demand diverse expertise and perspectives. Our interview process is designed to identify thoughtful candidates who bring unique strengths to our multidisciplinary team. If you think this may describe you, we'd love to hear from you regardless of your background or experience.

One of the most common questions we get is about whether it is worth applying to work at Geopera if you have not worked on modern GIS or Machine Learning systems in the past. Yes. For some roles, GIS experience is expected, but many technical staff have arrived at Geopera with no GIS experience. If you aren't sure about the GIS experience needed for your role, just ask us.

For non-technical roles, like marketing and communications, there's no coding involved. Instead, we'll talk through work you've made, how you think, and give you a small, realistic exercise that looks like the actual job.

For technical roles, we use shared environments like Colab and Replit for our programming-focused interviews. We'll be very interested in how you think through each problem and analyze the tradeoffs between possible approaches, and we'll also expect you to write, run, and debug your solutions. You'll be allowed to look things up in documentation or on the web, just like you usually can, but it's still important to be familiar with basic syntax, standard libraries, and common idioms in the language you're interviewing in, so that looking things up doesn't consume too much time.

Your interview process will also include non-technical questions about your experience and what motivates you, and of course, you'll have time to ask us about Geopera. We can't wait to meet you.
